DYNAMIC CONDENSER MICROPHONE, 2X PIEZO CONTACT MICROPHONES, OMNIDIRECTIONAL MICROPHONE, CLASS D AMPLIFIER, Zenith CD4400 4 Channel Power Amplifier, Allen & Heath SQ5, 2X SPEAKERS, 2X 50W DAYTON EXCITER, LAPTOP, PIANO.
A performance for a piano, body and speakers.

The piano has 2 exciter speakers attached to its resonator, 2 contact microphones placed upon its surface and an omni-directional microphone above its strings. The microphones flow into a mixing desk.

The body has a dynamic microphone in front of it, flowing into a mixing desk, into the piano speakers.

Both are connected to a third set of speakers that direct out into the audience.

A series of field recordings of the voice, and of the piano, from differing temporalities and locations, anterior (and interior) to the room of the performance, are played via a DAW that also runs into this system of speakers.

The voice and the piano microphone signals are sent into separate loops, playing back atop themselves, disintegrating each into an acousmatic tonality.

The voice sings, sound, vibrates and the piano sympathetically is played, resonated by the live voice. The voice removed from the body, folds back into the piano's resonances and plays it again. Both projected and amplified contaminate into a third space.
